Rosacea is a skin condition is a chronic skin condition characterized by varying degrees of redness, flushing, irritation and irregular skin texture. Rosacea occurs in both men and women and is most commonly found in people with fair skin. It is typical for rosacea to develop later in life, between the ages of 30 and 60, but may occur in the late teens and twenties.
Symptoms may include the following:
Frequent redness (flushing) of the face, usually occurring at the center of the face
Burning sensations and slight swelling of the facial skin
Small red lines under the skin showing more when blood vessels get larger
Persistent redness along with bumps on the skin, sometimes pimples, but not always
Swelling or textural irregularities of the nose
