Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, uses a series of very fine, sterile needles to puncture the skin triggering the body’s spontaneous healing process. This stimulates cell proliferation, causing the formation of new collagen. This results in a thicker, healthier, and smoother looking skin.

Microneedling produces micro-channels that also aid in infusing therapeutic serums into the dermis of the skin for greater penetration. Clinical studies have shown that serum absorption is dramatically increased when applied alongside microneedling. With deeper penetration and better absorption, the ability of the therapeutic serums increases, leading to improved results for you.

Microneedling Treatment with our Medical Esthetician, Allyssa Foster

  • Collagen Induction Therapy helps to:

    • Diminish fine lines and wrinkles

    • Rejuvenate skin with comprehensive improvement of skin tone and texture

    • Minimize stretch marks

    • Restore youthful appearance by tightening, lifting and thickening the skin

    • Improve the appearance of scars (surgical, burns, acne scar depressions)

    • Reduce pore size

    • Increase absorption of therapeutic solutions

    • Deliver visible results safely with minimal down time

    • Intensify transdermal delivery for platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments

    • Topical numbing cream is applied 45 mins prior to each treatment.

If the microneedling treatment is being paired with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), your blood will be drawn by a doctor or RN and centrifuged to separate the PRP from the red blood cells. PRP is packed full of growth factors, making it the perfect treatment serum to pair with mirconeedling to improve your overall results.

    • Once your numbing is complete, your medical esthetician will remove it and cleanse the area being treated and then begin treatment.

    • The sensation associated with Collagen Induction Therapy ranges from sandpaper being moved across the skin, to more sensitive rapid pinching and mild irritation. While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating needle tip reduces discomfort and makes the treatment more tolerable.

    • Immediately after the treatment the skin will be red and the pinpoint bleeding that occurs during the treatment is mixed in with the topical serum and left on the skin to continue to provide nutrient benefits. Some minor swelling and bruising is also possible.

    • The total healing time depends on the depth of needles used and the number of overlapping passes. On average, patients experience mild redness and swelling between 2 to 4 days. Some patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.

  • After healing, most patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment as collagen and elastic production continues.
